Overview

8G Architektur is a Bern based architecture and engineering startup known for SchienenTragwerke, a structural steel system made from recycled railway tracks. Their solution reduces primary energy use by up to 94 percent. The project focused on redesigning their existing website to clearly explain their process and startup mission.

The Challenge

The previous website did not clearly communicate how 8G’s system works or why it matters. The structure lacked clarity, and the content did not guide visitors through their approach. For a growing startup, the site needed to explain their method, sustainability focus, and technical value in a simple way.

Objectives

The goal was to redesign the website to present 8G Architektur’s process, mission, and expertise with clarity. The site needed a minimal look, strong structure, multilingual access, and solid performance across all devices.

My Role

I managed the full redesign from concept to launch. This included redesigning the website in Figma, defining layout and hierarchy, and developing the final site in WordPress. I also focused on responsive behavior and performance.

Approach

The redesign started in Figma, where I reworked the page structure to clearly show 8G’s process and startup mission. The layout was kept minimal to match their architectural precision and engineering mindset.

After finalizing the design, the site was rebuilt in WordPress using the Breakdance builder. Pages were developed with a mobile first approach to ensure consistency across devices. Multilingual functionality was added to support international visitors. Performance and load speed were optimized to keep the experience smooth and focused.

Impact

The redesigned website now explains 8G Architektur’s system and mission in a clear, structured way. Visitors can quickly understand how their solution works and why sustainability is central to their work. The site supports credibility, improves usability, and presents 8G as a focused and forward thinking architectural startup.
